Two ways to be part of this important work.

1 - Become a Member

IPHA can accomplish its missions and goals only through participation of its members and friends, working together to make significant strides in public health. Anyone interested in promoting public health across Indiana is encouraged to join IPHA.

2 - Join a Committee

IPHA’s committees are a valuable way for you to bring your personal interests and skills to bear on the health of the public in Indiana. Contact IPHA for more information.

Communications and Media
Provides support for IPHA’s communications and public relations activities, including overseeing IPHA publications and the website.

Conference
Plans the annual conference and membership meeting through several sub-committees: Program Planning, Meals and Facilities, Public Health Awards, Oral and Poster Presentation Abstract Reviewers, and Resource Development.

Membership and Development
Develops and implements strategies to grow and diversify IPHA’s membership of public health professionals, students, advocates and partner organizations. Plans and implements strategies to increase and diversify sources of financial support for IPHA, including corporate, foundation and member giving.  The committe especially seeks to increase corporate support in the form of sponsorships, exhibitors, and advertisers.

Public Policy
Reviews legislative initiatives and other public rules and regulations concerning public health. Recommends positions on current public health issues, develops policy resolutions and coordinates advocacy of IPHA positions through personal contacts with legislators and other policy makers. The committee supports IPHA’s grassroots network and other public health partner organizations to achieve identified policy objectives.                                                                                                            

Local Health Department Infrastructure
Advises IPHA staff on various program initiatives to strengthen local public health.
